AHL: Vipiteno and Val Gardena climb up with victories

The Broncos celebrated a six-point win against the Zeller Eisbären in the Weihenstephan Arena. In the direct duel for ninth place in the table, the “Wildpferde” won 3-2. In a hard-fought match, the Wipptalers took the lead first through Deluca and then through Verreault-Francis, but had to accept the equalizer both times. Shortly before the end, Hannes Stofner finally redeemed all Vipiteno fans: The attacker scored to make it 3-2 and thus made the Broncos' three points perfect. In the table, the Vipiteno team overtook the Zeller Eisbären and are now in ninth place.

The people of Val Gardena did not disappoint on Saturday evening either: the resurgent Ladins clearly beat Bregenzerwald 5-0 in their home Pranives Stadium and thus achieved their fifth success en suite. Josef Straka, Derek Eastman, Benjamin Kostner, Diego Iori and Brendan Ellis were among the top scorers in the shutout victory over the latecomers to the table. Just like the Broncos, the HCG also took a step forward in the rankings thanks to the “threesome”: The “Furie” are now in eleventh place in the table.
