Former Val Gardena star Anthony DeLuca is set to celebrate in North Tyrol in the future.

Val Gardena's record man strengthens the competition

Last season, Anthony DeLuca was the undisputed top scorer for HC Gröden, and from now on he will be hunting for goals for a rival in the Alps Hockey League.

With a whopping 50 goals in 38 games, Anthony DeLuca entered the history books of the Alps Hockey League last season. No striker has a better record to date. Despite these goals and a total of 67 points, the HCG terminated the contract with the 29-year-old Italian-Canadian after just one year. The chemistry with the rest of the team was not right, neither on nor off the ice.

DeLuca was looking for a club for a long time and finally signed up for eight games (14 points) with the Laval Petroliers in the Canadian LNAH. Now he is returning to the Alps Hockey League. The goal scorer will play for EC Kitzbühel until the end of the season, replacing the long-term injured Chris Schutz. "I hope that we can integrate him quickly and well into our team," said KEC sports director Wilfrid Wetzl in a club press release.
