Unterland Cavaliers: One striker stays, one leaves
The Unterland Cavaliers are continuing to advance their roster planning for the upcoming season in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL). While one forward is leaving the club, another has extended his contract.

Following the signing of Miiro Linjala, the Cavaliers now have a second forward on their roster for the upcoming season. As the club announced Tuesday evening, Gabriel Zerbetto will also be playing for the Cavaliers next season. Davide Girardi, however, is leaving the Cavaliers and moving to the Italian Hockey League (IHL).
Zerbetto He progressed through all youth categories at his hometown club and made his debut for the senior team in 2019. He has since played 177 games across all competitions. Last season, the nearly 1,90-meter-tall forward tallied three goals and one assist in 30 games. "On the ice, he consistently demonstrates his qualities, takes responsibility, and contributes to the team's stability with his style of play," the Cavs wrote.

Days earlier, however, the team had bid farewell to Davide girardi Publicly. The forward, born in Trento but trained in the lowlands, was one of the Cavaliers' most reliable point scorers in recent seasons (63 points in 123 games). Now, however, the 22-year-old is seeking a new challenge and will be joining Varese in the IHL next season.
“I would like to thank everyone for their support over the past seasons,” Girardi emphasized in a farewell video. “I am very grateful to this club – it has become my home for many years. See you again.”
