The Buam couldn't have chosen a better day for the performance. Bright sunshine and summer temperatures attracted many fans to the Arena Ritten, where not only the new board and the youth teams were presented, but of course this year's AlpsHL team. FISG President Andrea Gios, the sports director of the national team Stefan Zisser and Ritten's mayor Paul Lintner also mingled among the many onlookers.

First it was the turn of the little ones, who can look forward to a special “new addition” this year. Dan Tudin, who has long since resigned and has long since become at home in the Ritten, is taking over the management of the U17. In this category as well as in the U19, the Buam, under the leadership of Neo-President Roberto Rampoldi, are continuing the cooperation with HC Gherdëina that has been ongoing for years.

The focus of the ice hockey day, during which a so-called legend game was also held, was, in addition to the farewell to long-time President Thomas Rottensteiner and the rest of the outgoing board, the presentation of the new team that will be chasing the title in the new season. Boom don't hide After a year of transition, the Buam want to be at the top again - that became clear on Saturday. “We know that we have a good team and want to get as far as possible,” says Simon Kostner, who took over from Tudin and is the new Buam captain. “Others would have deserved the C on their chest, but I feel honored and hope to fulfill this role in the best possible way,” says the native of Val Gardena. Coach Santeri Heiskanen also doesn't shy away from setting big goals: “We have high expectations,” said the Finn.

In order to be prepared for all challenges, the team was strengthened with three new additions and a prominent return. Jacob Smith, who comes from HC Gherdëina, defender Zach Osburn and striker Jari Sailio are the new faces on the high plateau. Alex Frei, on the other hand, is returning to his old place of work after a season in Asiago. They are all intended to improve rides not only in the top, but above all in the width. “You can help us a lot. “Last season our squad was a bit small, which is why we were a bit tired in the important games,” emphasizes last year’s Buam top scorer. Asiago is the main competitor, but Jesenice and Lustenau should not be ignored either, says Kostner. With these words, the national player declares the fight for the title and at the same time sends a signal to the competition.

At the end of the ice hockey day there will be a test match against HC Gherdëina on Saturday evening. The game starts at 20 p.m.
