EBEL: The Foxes' winning streak is coming to an end

In the first minutes of the game there were two fires in front of the Bolzano goalkeeper's goal, Melichercik had to do hard work. The Foxes then took over the game and created several scoring opportunities. Seymour's grenade, a solo run from Yogan and a huge opportunity for Bernard after great preparatory work from Kearney did not lead to Bolzano taking the lead.

Four minutes before the end of the period, the referees sent Jesse Root to the penalty box and it only took a few seconds for Arniel to pull away from the blue line and surprise Melichercik. The Foxes were slightly shocked by the guests' goal and were then able to thank their goalkeeper twice, who prevented Vorarlberg from scoring their second goal.

HCB Südtirol Alperia started the middle third with the advantage, but this brought nothing. For the first ten minutes there was relatively little happening on the ice and the game sputtered along without any highlights. The Foxes were also unable to take advantage of another power play. Towards the middle of the third, the people of Bolzano suddenly increased the tempo, pressed vehemently for the equalizer and the chances increased. A hard-hitting shot from Gellert missed the target, Kearney served Bernard in front of the goal who took over the volley, Reid appeared alone in front of the Bulldogs' goalie and Palmieri also failed to get the disc into Hardy's goal. Four minutes before the end of the third, the Bolzano team had another outnumbered situation, Palmieri carelessly lost the puck in the attacking third and Petrik had free rein and gave Melichercik no chance. In the last minute, the Foxes threw all their strength forward and a commotion in front of the guests' goal was unsuccessful.

The Foxes went at a very high tempo in the final part of the game and restricted the guests in their third time and time again. After three minutes, Reid released his strike partner Yogan, but he hesitated for too long. Immediately afterwards, Nick Palmieri made up for his mistake by lofting a pass from Oleksuk over the Dornbirn goalkeeper. There was hope again among the people of Bolzano. But several good opportunities were missed. The Foxes tried with six field players and the so-called crowbar in the last two minutes of the game, but Gellert with a powerful shot and Jesse Root were unsuccessful.

EBEL: The Foxes' winning streak is coming to an end

HCB Südtirol Alperia has recently won the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL) six times in a row. This series came to an end on Sunday. The Foxes suffered a defeat in front of their home crowd for the first time since September 23rd. The White-Reds lost 1-2 at home against Dornbirner EC.
