Asiago brings in a top striker from Slovakia

Asiago Hockey is preparing for the upcoming season in the ICE Hockey League. On Tuesday, the Venetians announced the signing of a striker who should cause a real stir in the league.

The reference with which Carter Turnbull comes to Asiago is impressive. Although the 25-year-old only has a handful of seasons under his belt in adult ice hockey, he was able to impress throughout.

The Canadian's performance exploded, especially last season. He collected 56 scorer points (25 goals, 31 assists) in 41 games for Banska Bystrica in the Slovakian first division. This made Turnbull the fourth best scorer in the entire league. In conjunction with ex-Gardenna native Matt Wilkins, Turnbull formed one of the most dangerous offensive duos in Slovakia. By the way, the top scorer was Olivier Archambault (1), who is still known to South Tyrol's ice hockey fans from his time at HC Pustertal.
