Bolzano's fans have voted: Luca Frigo is the best

HC Bozen's season came to a dramatic end in the semi-final against Red Bull Salzburg. Now the fans have chosen their player of the season.

The red and white fans have decided: Luca Frigo is their MVP of the 2023/24 season. The striker beat Sam Harvey in a hard-fought final that was decided by just a few votes.

The 30-year-old from Moncalieri once again stood out for his continuity, consistent performances and excellent statistics. In the regular season, Frigo scored 46 points (25 goals and 11 assists) in 14 games and, as always, proved to be a playoff specialist: in 12 appearances between the quarterfinals and semifinals, he recorded four goals and the same number of assists. Aside from the raw numbers, the Foxes' assistant captain has been a bench player in every zone of the ice for years, both in the power play and in penalty killing, where he is a true master of his craft.

Leader and symbolic figure

Frigo has become a symbol of the team in Bolzano since 2016: 476 games, 186 points, a Karl Nedwed Trophy won and two further final appearances speak for themselves. Over the years he has developed into a leader and tough fighter on the ice in the white and red dressing room; his points tally and game overview were particularly impressive in the last two seasons.

In the MVP voting semi-final, Frigo emerged victorious against Gazley, while in the other, Sam Harvey prevailed against Daniel Mantenuto. These players took the top four places in the rankings after the first voting phase on the HCB Foxes app, while the knockout phase took place on the club's Facebook and Instagram pages. A total of 10.605 votes were cast for the MVP.
