Adam Almquist is a new player for HC Pustertal. As the Wolves announced on Wednesday morning, the Swede has joined the South Tyrolean team's roster with immediate effect. "His signing gives our defense the necessary depth," said Patrick Bona, the Pustertal team's sporting director, regarding the transfer.

Almquist is a two-way defenseman who is expected to play a significant role on the power play for HCP. The 34-year-old certainly has the experience for it. Almquist has played in the KHL (for four different clubs) and the Swiss National League (Bern, Zug), which are considered the best leagues in Europe. He also has experience playing in the top leagues in his home country (Frölunda, HV71) and Germany (RB Munich, Cologne).

Four-time champion and national player

Almquist not only played for top-tier clubs during his career, but also won several championship titles. He was crowned champion in the North American AHL with Grand Rapid, and in Sweden he achieved this feat with Frölunda and his hometown club AH71. He also won a Swiss championship with SC Bern and played 20 games for the Swiss national team.

“My goal in Bruneck is to achieve as much success as possible together with the team. I can hardly wait to play in front of the Puschtra fans and get to know everyone,” said Almquist in an initial statement.
