The new man at HC Pustertal comes from North America.

The first new addition to HC Pustertal has been confirmed

After a number of players have already said goodbye (mostly defenders), HC Pustertal finally presented the first new crack for the coming season on Tuesday.

The first new addition to HC Pustertal comes from the USA, is 1,93 m tall, weighs a whopping 98 kg and goes by the name Austin Osmanski. The US boy played at the junior level for, among others, the Buffalo Sabers and the Peterborough Pete's, Tommy Purdeller's former team. After an interlude in university ice hockey, he made the jump to the professional camp in 2021 - at the age of 21. In those 3 years, the left-shooter's appearances were split between the AHL (47 games) and ECHL (35 games).

Now comes the first jump to Europe to HC Pustertal. Osmanski is described as a straightforward and uncompromising player who can also move forward. Thanks to his size, he will also provide the necessary water displacement in front of his own goal. “With Austin Osmanski we have managed to bring a very interesting AHL player to Pustertal who will give us a lot of physical stability in defense but also has offensive potential,” said Patrick Bona, sporting director of the HCP.

“I will give everything”

Osmanski himself is also quoted in an official statement on social networks. “My goal is to enrich the team with physical play. I enjoy defending hard and, if possible, making an impact offensively. The brand new arena, the beautiful city and the amazing support from the fans are something I have never experienced before. I will give everything to bring a championship to the Pustertal!”
