These departures hurt HC Pustertal

The sporting management of HC Pustertal continues to work on the squad for the upcoming season in the ICE Hockey League. After the club announced the signing of Tyler Coulter on Thursday, the Wolves said goodbye to three players on Sunday.

As the HCP announced on Sunday evening, Dante Hannoun, Rick Schofield and Wyatt Ege will no longer wear the black and yellow kit in the coming season. While Schofield and Ege's farewells had become apparent, the Italian-Canadian's departure comes as quite a surprise. Hannoun has always been an asset and one of the best dual nationals over the last three seasons. In the past season he collected an impressive 35 points. Now the 25-year-old has decided to look for a new adventure: As was also announced on Sunday, Hannoun is moving to the Slovakian first division club HK Spisska Nova Ves.

In recent weeks, several media outlets have reported that Schofield is aiming to return to the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). Accordingly, the 37-year-old will sign a contract with Düsseldorfer EG. Schofield was a leader in the HCP colors, collecting more than a point per game and playing a major role in the Wolves reaching the semi-finals. Despite his advanced age, he would have been very valuable for the upcoming season.

After two years in the green valley, Ege also has to say goodbye. The 29-year-old moved to Bruneck from overseas and developed into a reliable defender who has his strengths in handling the puck, but has weaknesses in duels. The fact that sports director Patrick Bona decided to separate does not come as a surprise. It is still uncertain where the US boy will go.
