Big opportunity: Damian Clara gets NHL contract

Almost a year ago, Damian Clara was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks. Now the NHL club has given the young South Tyrolean a contract.

Clara signs a three-year contract with the NHL club from California. This is another big step in the career of the 19-year-old. This means that the Ducks continue to see a lot of potential in Clara and could always fall back on the Puster goalie in the future.

However, it is unlikely that Clara will play for Anaheim next season. The man from Reischach spent last season with Brynäs in the Swedish second division and led the club to the championship with strong performances. On paper, the 1,99 meter man is now returning to his original club Färjestad, which is at home in the highest Swedish league.

The Anaheim Ducks won the Stanley Cup in 2007. The club is now known for its good talent pool. For Clara, perhaps the chance of a lifetime.
