NHL: Oilers in the Conference Finals

The Edmonton Oilers are in the NHL Conference Finals and still have a chance at the championship. Against the Vancouver Canucks, the Oilers won the seventh and decisive game in the hard-fought series 3-2.

In goal again was Stuart Skinner, who only had to fend off 17 shots - including top-class shots from the hosts in a hectic final phase. After a temporary 3-0 lead, the Oilers lost control in the final minutes and suffered two goals.

The finals of the Western Conference are now against the Dallas Stars. To reach the final series for the Stanley Cup, a team needs four wins in the best-of-seven series. Game one will be played on Friday night (CEST) in Dallas. In the Eastern Conference, the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers will determine the finalists.
