Austria's start to the World Cup is going wrong

The opening game of the Austrian national ice hockey team did not go as planned. There was a defeat against Denmark.

From an Austrian perspective it was 1:5 at the end of the 60 minutes. The start was definitely a failure. The Danes started more motivated and were soon ahead 2-0 thanks to goals from Lauridsen and Storm. KAC captain Manuel Ganahl managed to score the next goal in the starting third, but it wasn't to be that day. Two goals from Blichfeld and a goal from Scheel sealed the Danes' 5-1 win.

In the parallel game, Latvia had more trouble with Poland than they would have liked. In the end, the Latvians narrowly won 5:4 after extra time. Before that, the Poles were ahead 2-0 and 3-2. Kaspars Daugavins scored the gold goal in overtime.
