World Cup: Finland outclasses Great Britain

Finland achieved its first success at the Ice Hockey World Championships in the Czech Republic with a sweeping victory.

The Scandinavians outclassed newly promoted Great Britain 8-0 (1:0,5:0,2:0) in Prague on Sunday. 20-year-old Oliver Kapanen with a hat trick and NHL veteran Mikael Granlund with four assists stood out from the Suomi team.


In Group B in Ostrava, Slovakia got their first points with a 6:2 (3:0,1:1,2:1) over Kazakhstan.
