World Cup in Bolzano: Slovenia does the same as Italy

With their opening defeat against South Korea, the Slovenians have disappointed so far at the World Cup in Bolzano. Now the top favorite has fought back for promotion.

For many experts, Slovenia was considered the top favorite for promotion to the A group, ahead of Italy and Hungary - at least before the tournament. On Sunday, the Slovenians surprisingly lost 2:4 against South Korea. Two days later they bounced back with a 6-1 win against Romania.

Italy had already won against the Romanians on Sunday evening with the same result. After the first day of rest on Monday, at least 1.300 spectators made the pilgrimage to the Bozner Sparkasse Arena at lunchtime on Tuesday to watch the match between Slovenia and Romania. The ultimately superior team even took a 1-0 lead.

At the beginning of the second third, Slovenia took the lead for the first time and clearly extended it. One thing seems clear: Romania could be the weakest opponent at the World Cup in the 1st Division Group A in Bolzano. Italy will then play their second game against Japan on Tuesday evening at 19.30 p.m. This time the Blue Team will be coached by Perry Pearn.
