Series A: The intermediate round begins

Ritten Sport – HC Valpellice The reigning champions start the Master Round with a home game. The Buam will host fifth-placed Valpellice in Klobenstein on Tuesday from 20.30 p.m. Initially all eyes will be on the Rittner housing, where the Austrian newcomer Fabian Weinhandl will take his place for the first time. The goalie moved from Klagenfurt to the South Tyrolean plateau on loan on Sunday and is expected to lead the defending champions onto the road to success.

HC Gherdeina – HC Asiago

HC Gherdeina probably faces the most difficult task of the three domestic Master Round teams. The Ladins have HC Asiago as guests, who share the place in the sun together with the Pusterer Wolves. Immediately before the start of the second round, the Ladins gained a lot of self-confidence with an 8-1 win against Kaltern. Now they want to follow up with a “threesome” against Asiago.

HC Pustertal – Hockey Milano

The duel Pustertal against Milan should immediately bring back memories of the spectacular 6:5 success a few weeks ago for the yellow and black team. Back then, Helfer and Co. were able to win the game at the last minute. Now they are challenged again to keep the Lombards at bay and at the same time maintain their position at the top of the table.

HC Eppan – HC Fassa

The pirates from Überetsch will be put to the test right at the start of the relegation round. After the poor performance in the championship and the early exit from the Italian Cup, the HCE squad, which was recently weakened, will be put to the test in the home game against Fassa. Three points are mandatory against the second-to-last in the table in order not to completely lose contact with the top places.

SG Cortina – SV Kaltern

The SV Kaltern players are also under enormous pressure. The Hechte started the season with modest goals, but in order to get on the playoff train, points are urgently needed. Kaltern is currently at the bottom of the table, seven points behind Fassa. After the much celebrated derby win against Kaltern and the bitter defeat in Val Gardena, Raphael Andergassen must definitely find consistency in the upcoming games, otherwise there is a risk of the season ending prematurely.

WSV Vipiteno – HC Neumarkt

The only South Tyrolean derby on the first round matchday takes place on Tuesday in the Weihenstephan Arena, where the Broncos ask the wild geese to dance. The first in the table from Wipptal is the big hunted at the beginning of the relegation round, while HC Neumarkt finally wants to get on the road to success after a disappointing first half. The three wins from the last four championship games certainly provide a good basis for this.
