VIDEO | Brutal foul causes Vinschger Eisfix to cook

The AHC Vinschgau lost the first semi-final game of IHL Division 1 against the heavy championship favorites Ares Sport 3:5 (SportNews reported). However, it was not the Eisfix's surrendered 3-0 lead or the impressive backdrop of 1100 spectators in Aosta that was the topic of conversation in the days that followed, but rather a foul by former Italian national player Brian Ihnacak. The 38-year-old took revenge for a check in which he badly attacked Vinschgau's Michael Pircher with an attack on the head. The referees only interrupted the game when objects flew from the away bench onto the ice and the injured player was loudly pointed out. Ihnacak got away with a minor penalty. So he will be there on Saturday when Ares aims for the second victory in the best-of-3 series in Latsch and thus the longed-for finals.
