3/4 half marathon with Agnes Tschurtschenthaler - new record

2,5 kg of potatoes await each “finisher” after 17.6 km in Sand in Taufers. This has given the Raiffeisen 3/4 half marathon the nickname “Erdäpfellauf”. The top runners are also happy about the Pustertal potato, but for them it is primarily about prestige, because the Raiffeisen 3/4 half marathon is a real classic.

Hermann Achmüller, who is also co-organizer, has won five of the twelve editions so far. But the road to the sixth success is “rocky”. Eduard Lahner, Hannes Rungger and Peter Lanziner registered three runners who had already crossed the finish line before Achmüller at the Reschenseelauf. There is also the leader of the Top7 overall ranking, Rudi Brunner. And local hero Georg Brunner, winner in 2008, should also be taken into account in this race.

The women's starting field is led by Edeltraud Thaler. The winner of the Kalterersee half marathon leads in the top 7 overall ranking ahead of Petra Pircher. The woman from Lasa also comes to the Pustertal. The duo is particularly threatened by Christina Teissl, who triumphed at the Haidersee Run last Sunday. The real driving force, however, is Agnes Tschurtschenthaler. The 10.000 m Italian champion is currently preparing for her first half marathon. “The 3/4 half marathon is just right for me,” says the Sesto native, looking forward to her Top7 debut. "It's quite possible that one or two top runners will decide to start at short notice. So excitement is guaranteed," says Willi Innerhofer, who forms the OC together with Achmüller, Manfred Ambach and Paul Innerhofer. The sponsoring association for the event is the SSV Taufers.

This year the run starts for the fifth time from the Bruneck town hall and leads via Dietenheim and Aufhofen along the Ahr cycle path through Gais, Uttenheim to Kematen and on to the finish at the festival site in Sand in Taufers. The height difference is only 35 meters.

The start time is new. The race will take place for the first time on Saturday (17 p.m.). As of Thursday evening, 612 participants had registered. This broke the record from 2007 (551).
