43 track and field athletes travel to the Arge Alp meeting in Plattling

Six years ago, the South Tyrol selection even won the Arge Alp meeting, and in 2012, 2013 and 2015 they were on the podium. Last year, the local athletes finished the meeting in Herisau, Switzerland, tied for first place with Bayern, but then had to settle for second place because they had fewer individual victories. This year too, South Tyrol will be traveling to Platting with an extremely young team. There are also a few veterans, such as Elisabeth Stofner, Markus Ploner, Manfred Menz and Karl Telser. The 43-member state selection is made up of 22 women and 21 men. The team is accompanied by trainers Karl Schöpf, Hans Pircher, Marco Andreatta and Ruth Mayr.

43 track and field athletes travel to the Arge Alp meeting in Plattling

On Tuesday afternoon, the regional athletics association announced the names of the athletes who will take part in the traditional Arge Alp meeting with the South Tyrolean selection. The regional meeting will take place on September 17th and 18th, 2016 in Platting, Bavaria.
