Hannes Kirchler wins the European Championship ticket for Zurich with 63,33 m

Hannes Kirchler was the first South Tyrolean to buy a ticket for the European Championships in Zurich in Chula Vista (San Diego, California). The 35-year-old from Meran, who has been in training camp in the USA for a few days with two other “Azzurri”, Giovani Faloci and Federico Apolloni, threw the discus 63,33 m and remained one meter above the European Championship limit (62.30 m ). In his career he only threw further seven years ago in Bolzano with 65,01 m and in the summer of 2011 in Tarquinia with 63,58 m.
