Duplantis will miss the entire 2027 indoor season and consequently will not participate in the European Championships in March.

The 26-year-old explains this step as necessary for physical recovery and optimal preparation for the upcoming outdoor season. Due to the break, his own meeting in Uppsala, the "Mondo Classic," will also not take place next year.

Duplantis looks back on an extremely intense and exhausting year, in which he also had to contend with minor injury concerns (such as at the Diamond League meeting in London).

Focus on summer season

However, this did not hinder his success: He recently secured European Championship gold in Birmingham. The serial winner, who has already improved the world record 15 times, now wants to focus on next summer.
