All-around Italian Championships this weekend in Lana

The U18, U20 and U23 all-around Italian championships will be held on June 22 and 23 in Lana. Alongside the Brixia Meeting, this is the most important track event in South Tyrol this season.

This weekend, Lana is once again the Mecca for Italy's best multi-athletes. National and international multi-event events have been held at the Lana facility several times, and the IAAF Mulistars Meeting was even held there twice in 2019 and 2021.

A total of six titles will be awarded this weekend, divided into the three age groups U18, U20 and U23. Nine South Tyrolean athletes are also taking part. The Bruneck trio Alexa Schneider, Greta Amhof and Julia Moser are competing in the women's U18 heptathlon. Schneider, who is the fourth-best athlete with 4.690 points, has a particularly good chance of a podium finish. Amhof and Moser, on the other hand, will be aiming for a top 10 place. This is also what Vinschgau U20 heptathlete Lorena Lingg has in her sights. Host Annika Oberrauch from SV Lana will be representing the U23 competition. Her teammate Frederic Schöpf wants to cause a surprise in the U18 decathlon after a long break.

Daniele Tomasi's performance will be particularly exciting. The CSS Leonardo da Vinci athlete is one of the favorites in the U20 decathlon and is in third place with 6.341 points, behind Nicola Serra (6.355) and top favorite Tommaso Franzè (7.159). Tomasi's teammate Kevin Lubello (6.137) also has a say in the medals. Mattia Graiff (5.842) has his sights set on a top 10 place.

The two-day all-round spectacle starts on Saturday at 9.30 a.m. with the 100 m sprint for the U18 decathletes.
