Aviation spectacle in Schlanders: An old friend wins

In the summer of 2018, the Pole Piotr Lisek found his way to Vinschgau for the first time. At his Schlanders premiere he promptly put on a big show and took victory. The second appearance in South Tyrol followed five years later – and Lisek triumphed again. On Friday evening he was unbeatable in front of around 1000 fans at the Kulturhausplatz in Schlanders.

Lisek has already jumped 6,02 meters in his career and therefore holds the Polish record. In Schlanders, 30 meters was enough for the 5,73-year-old to win on Friday. Lisek distanced the competition by an impressive 30 centimeters. The second, Ersu Sasma from Turkey, came in at 5,43 meters, Federico Biancoli from Italy came in third with 5.23 meters. The result of Niccoló Fusaro from Bolzano was pleasing, as he also jumped 3 meters high, just three centimeters remained below his absolute best.

Natalie Kofler landed on the podium.

A women's competition was held for the first time on Friday, and Natalie Kofler from Lanan promptly landed on the podium. She came a strong second with a height of four meters. In the “final” against Giada Pozzato, the South Tyrolean got stuck at the 4,10 meter mark, while Azzurra managed to get over it in the last attempt. Pozzato also jumped 4,25 meters, which is her personal best.
