Relay challenge goes to Athletic Club 96 Bozen

The four national relay trophies were awarded today in Vigevano. Athletic Club 96 Bozen prevailed in the men's sprint classification (4x100, 4x200 and 4x400), Bracco Atletica won in the women's category, while the middle distance classification (4x800 and 4x1500) went to Fanfulla Lodigiana and San Rocchino. In the 4x100m relay, Andrea Trionfo, Alessandro Monte, Fabio Squillace and Gabriele Buttafuoco from Bolzano finished the preliminary heat in 42.63 seconds with the fourth best time, but then had to give up in the final and settle for fifth place. Gabriele Buttafuoco, Raffaele Fusaro, Isalbet Juarez and Fabio Squillace prevailed in the 4x200m relay against Pro Sesto: 1:27.24 for the Bolzano team, 1:27.54 for the Lombard team. The winner of the 4x100 m relay, Brixia Atletica, was eliminated due to a mistake in his transition. With this time, Athletic Club 96 improved the 35-year-old national record of LGS Raiffeisen (Plattner, Prast, Rossi and Agstner), which ran the distance in a hand-timed 18:1981 minutes on October 1, 27.9.

Two new regional records The Athletic Club 96 then set a new national and regional record in the 4x400m relay.
