Around 3.000 runners started the legendary Reschenseelauf in the far west of South Tyrol on Saturday evening at 17 p.m. Olympic participant Tereza Hrochova won for the second time in her second participation, while Konstantin Wedel triumphed for the fourth time. However, he is still two short of record winner Hermann Achmüller (6 triumphs).
"This is my favorite running event and winning here again is particularly exciting. The course and the crowd are outstanding. I am really happy with this victory because it comes after a difficult time due to knee pain," said Wedel. The Nuremberg native won with a time of 48.26,1 minutes and was more than a minute faster than the second-placed Italian Antonino Lollo. The best South Tyrolean was Andreas Reiterer (50.16,4 minutes) in fourth place. He was only six seconds away from the podium.
In the women's race, Czech Hrochova won the 15,3 km race with a time of 52.48,7 minutes, also with a clear lead over Italian Sara Bottarelli (54.05) from Brescia. The best South Tyrolean was Andrea Schweigkofler (59.14,5) from the Meran Sports Club in fifth place.

With a time of under 53 minutes, Hrochova is the fastest woman in the history of the Reschenseelauf. But the course changes a little every year, so it is difficult to speak of a record. But the level is undoubtedly high; after all, Hrochova is competing in the marathon at the Olympics in Paris this year. The young cross-country skiers Ylvie Folie, Julia Kuen and Marit Folie also took part in the women's race. They took 7,8th, 17th and XNUMXth place.
