Three bronze medals in title fights in Molfetta

The Bolzano 4x100 m men's relay team won bronze yesterday. The two homegrown players Alessandro Monte and Leonardo Badolato as well as the Trentino native Lorenzo Ianes and Jacques Riparelli finished third in a good 40.28 seconds (new regional record). The victory went to Atletica Riccardi Milano (3), while La Fratellanza Modena took silver in 39.95 seconds. This evening the Talferstadt team's next coup followed, this time over 40.23x4 m, where Joao Carlos Pina Barros, Bolzano's Abdessalam Machmach, Abdelhakim Elliasmine and Michele Tricca also secured bronze in 400:3 minutes.

Simon Zandarco gave a top performance in Apulia. The 24-year-old decathlete sensationally took bronze with 7.162 points. The Gargazonian improved his previous record (6.945) by 215 points. The SV Lana flagship set new records in the long jump (7.09 m), the 110 m hurdles (15.06 seconds) and the pole vault (4.40 m). Lorenzo Naidon from Trentino took the win with an impressive 8.090 points, ahead of Lorenzo Modugno (7.613). Jan Fragiacomo from Bolzano came eighth, also with a new record of 6.392 points. Zandarco's club colleague Linda Maria Pircher from Burgstall took 7th place in the women's heptathlon with 5.015 points.

Katja Pattis from Tiers was South Tyrol's great hope for a medal in the 3000 m steeplechase in Molfetta. However, the flagship of the South Tyrol Team Club only took seventh place in 10:30.08 minutes. Petra Nardelli from Eggen came sixth in the 400 m with a time of 53.50 seconds. Anna Menz took 8th place in the long jump: Marlinger, who competes for Atletica Firenze, achieved 5.89 m. However, Lanan pole vaulter Nathalie Kofler missed out on making it into the top ten, having to settle for eleventh place with 4.00 m.
