Pezzei wins silver at the Karate Eurocup

The Eurocup, an international karate competition, took place in Zell am See (Austria) on Saturday. Five athletes from Karate Mühlbach were there. Fabian Pezzei celebrated the greatest success, taking silver to Mühlbach.

It was the first experience at international level for 12-year-old Ramón Motta, 15-year-old Madleen Unterhuber and 16-year-old Laura Peintner. “Their great performances have not only shown that they are ready for this step, but that further promising steps will follow,” emphasizes coach Martin Pezzei.

Unterhuber and Peintner were able to fight against athletes from different nations in the preliminary round and only had to admit defeat in the consolation round, while Motta and the experienced athlete Florian Filehner were eliminated in the second round. Pezzei, however, won silver for Karate Mühlbach.

“Karate Mühlbach has opened a new chapter, because in addition to the two top athletes, Florian Fiwickeler and Fabian Pezzei, the young talents are now following in their footsteps,” says Martin Pezzei, who is particularly key in their hard work in training, their willingness to learn and their fighting spirit for success.
