Mass crash in Monaco: race interrupted

After a serious accident, the Formula 1 classic in Monaco was interrupted on the first lap.

During an overtaking attempt, Kevin Magnussen's Haas racing car touched Sergio Pérez's Red Bull. The Mexican hit the guardrail with his car on the narrow street circuit. Magnussen's teammate Nico Hülkenberg was also involved in the crash.

All that remained of Pérez's Red Bull was a wreck. There were numerous pieces of rubble on the asphalt. “Damn, that was unnecessary,” said Hülkenberg over the radio. The two Alpine pilots Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon also collided a little later after Ocon had tried to overtake in an overly motivated manner. According to initial impressions, none of the pilots involved were injured.
