Gold at the UITS Italian Championship in rapid shooting

Markus Zadra won the gold medal in the team competition with the Caprino Veronese team in the PCC (Pistol Caliber Carabine) class in rapid shooting (tiro rapido sportivo). The winning team consisted of the following athletes: Paolo Weis and Luca Bauer from Trento, Francesco Piccoli from Verona and Markus Zadra from Kurtatsch. PCC, a short rifle in 9x21 mm caliber, is a relatively new class that has only been available in the UITS professional association for rapid shooting for a few years and is becoming increasingly popular. In the last two years, when contact sports were subject to very strict requirements, especially in South Tyrol, Markus Zadra made necessity a virtue and continued his training in shooting sports and acquired several licenses. In 2021 alone, he competed in over 20 tournaments in various shooting sports, especially in the Veneto and Emilia Romagna regions, where there were much looser Corona regulations and sporting events could take place unhindered. High effort This Italian championship title is also a reward for the great effort of the last two years. It takes over an hour's drive just to find a suitable training location. The Caprino Veronese shooting range is ideal for this because you can practice any shooting sport well. There are lines for pistols, up to 300 m lines for rifles and free fields for dynamic shooting, where additional skills are required. In addition to rapid shooting, Markus Zadra competes in dynamic shooting (tiro dinamico) in the FIDTS association and in American defense shooting in the IDPA association. In 2022, Markus Zadra also won the “campionato federale” in the C class with the open pistol in the FIDTS association’s dynamic shooting.
