Tsitsipas struck: Sinner match in danger?

The ATP Finals begin in Turin on Sunday. Jannik Sinner meets Stefanos Tsitsipas at the start. But the Greek is apparently struggling with problems.

According to media reports, Tsitsipas had to cancel his training in Turin on Friday. The world number 6 apparently complained of pain in his right elbow. The question is, was this a precautionary measure or a serious injury? The fact is: Tsitsipas had to have an operation on his right elbow exactly two years ago and therefore has a history.

The 25-year-old can look back on a difficult year overall. The 2019 finals winner fell well short of expectations. A withdrawal from Turin would be another setback for Tsitsipas. “The ATP Finals are a bigger deal than a Grand Slam,” he said in a recent interview. Whatever the case, if Tsitsipas were to withdraw, Pole Hubert Hurkacz would be the first to move up.
