Alcaraz is planning big things: “I don’t know where my limits are”

Princess Kate presented the trophy to Carlos Alcaraz and the Spaniard proudly raised the golden cup. With a fascinating performance, the tennis pro triumphed at Wimbledon for the second time. Afterwards, he let his emotions run free.

Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz wants to advance into similar spheres as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in his hunt for more Grand Slam titles. "That is my main goal. That is my dream at the moment," said the 21-year-old Spaniard after his legendary triumph in the final over Djokovic.

"I don't know where my limits are. I don't want to think about it," added Alcaraz. He just wants to enjoy and keep dreaming: "Let's see if at the end of my career it will be 25, 30, 15, four. I don't know."

With a score of 6:2, 6:2, 7:6 (7:4), Alcaraz dominated the final one year after his five-set victory over Djokovic in the final at the same venue. In the fourth Grand Slam final, he secured the title for the fourth time. He was only the sixth professional in the Open era since 1968 to win Wimbledon directly after the French Open.

Alcaraz remains third in the ranking

"It doesn't matter if I've already won four Grand Slams at the age of 21. If I don't continue, all these tournaments won't matter to me," said Alcaraz. "I really want to continue. I'll try to keep winning and end my career with a lot of victories."

In the tennis world rankings, Alcaraz will continue to be behind seven-time Wimbledon winner Djokovic (2nd) from Serbia and South Tyrol's tennis hero Jannik Sinner (1st), who was eliminated in the Wimbledon quarterfinals, remain in third place. With 24 titles at the Grand Slam tournaments, Djokovic is the record winner in the men's category, ahead of the Spaniard Nadal (22) and the already retired Swiss Federer (20).
