Nadal and Berrettini each in the semifinals

The Olympic Games are just around the corner! But before that, most tennis players are preparing for the Olympics at other tournaments. Two big names have now made it into the semifinals.

There are three major tournaments where some tennis players are currently preparing for the Olympics: Bastad (Sweden), Gstaad (Switzerland) and Hamburg. The 22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal is in the semifinals at the tournament in Bastad, as is Matteo Berrettini at the tournament in Gstaad.

In the quarterfinals of the tournament, in which Jannik Sinner was also supposed to take part, Nadal had to face the Argentinian Mariano Navone (ATP 36). After 4.01 hours and 6 minute, the Spaniard finally converted the match point to win 7:7, 5:7 and 5:130. It was not an easy match for the former world number one. In the semifinals, Nadal will now face the Croatian Duje Ajdukovic (ATP XNUMX).

Berrettini also in the semifinals

Jannik Sinner's colleague Matteo Berrettini is also in the semifinals - at the tournament in Gstaad in Switzerland. In the quarterfinals, the Italian defeated the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP 18). After 2.12 hours, the score was 7:6 and 7:6 for Berrettini. The Azzurro is also in good form. In the semifinals, he will now face the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

At the ATP 500 tournament in Hamburg, the semifinal duels are Zverev-Martinez Portero and Baez-Fils. The big favorite for the title is of course Alexander Zverev, who already made it to the final at Roland Garros this year - but lost there to Carlos Alcaraz.

Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, is preparing for the Olympics after his holiday with his girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya (SportNews reported) in his adopted home of Monte Carlo. The draw will take place on July 25th, and the Olympic Games will officially begin on July 26th.
