With his victory at the Australian Open, Jannik Sinner has risen to new heights. This is also evident from how many people congratulated the Sesto native on this historic success. From Rafael Nadal to Lindsey Vonn to Gianluigi Buffon: the stars are at Sinner's feet.

Jannik Sinner just had his converted first match point against Daniil Medvedev, A companion had already spoken out on social media: Carlos Alcaraz. The world number two has always had an excellent relationship with the South Tyrolean and wrote: “I am so happy for you Jannik! You deserve it more than anyone else. Enjoy the moment, my friend.” His compatriot Rafael Nadal also didn't wait long with a message. “Great, Jannik. A fantastic tournament, your first Grand Slam! Congratulations to you, your team, your family and the whole country for winning with you today.”
Novak Djokovic, whom Sinner eliminated in the semifinals, said: “Bravo Jannik, the victory is well deserved.” South Tyrol’s tennis pioneer Andreas Seppi wrote: “How beautiful, what emotions, what a player. Enjoy this moment, champion.” Competitors such as Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune and Hubert Hurkacz joined in the congratulations. The world number 1. for the women, Iga Swiatek, said. “What a match, what a fight. Congratulations Jannik.”

The success did not go unnoticed outside the tennis world. Regardless of whether it was football coach Antonio Conte, Olympic pole vault champion Gianmarco Tamberi or MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia: they all congratulated the Sesto native on his historic success. Ski legend Lindsey Vonn believes Sinner is “without a doubt the best skier to ever win a Grand Slam.” And Gianluigi Buffon, who celebrated his 46th birthday on Sunday, thanked him. "Thank you for the gift. You were just amazing today.”
Former world number 1 Maria Sharapova posted the most amusing post. The Russian, who often trained with Sinner's foster father Riccardo Piatti at the end of her career and therefore knows the Sesto native very well, shared a dance video of the two and commented: “I knew that one day you would regret this. Congratulations champion! Patience, attitude and class.” Last but not least, the three big football clubs Inter, Juventus and Milan also expressed their congratulations.
