Sinner: “That’s not how you want to win a game”

Jannik Sinner advanced to the semi-finals at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam. We then collected his voices again in an audio file.

In the quarterfinals, Sinner also benefited from a submission from Milos Raonic. When the score was 7:6 and 1:1 in favor of the South Tyrolean, he gave up due to a leg injury. In the semi-final round there will now be a repeat of last year's semi-final: Sinner, who has the chance to become number 3 in the world, will meet local hero Tallon Griekspoor (ATP 29).

Our editor Stefan Peer, who is on site in Rotterdam, spoke briefly with Sinner late on Friday evening. South Tyrol's tennis hero was definitely surprised by Raonic's task. At the same time, he reiterated that he would have preferred to win the game “normally”. Below are Sinner's statements verbatim.
