Sinner vs Alcaraz: Who is better?

Jannik Sinner reached the final of the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing on Tuesday. There, the Sextner will face none other than Carlos Alcaraz. A special final – in more ways than one.

Sinner and Alcaraz will face each other on Wednesday for the 10th time at ATP level - and for the 11th time overall. The two have been considered the upcoming superstars of the tennis scene for many years. The now 23-year-old South Tyrolean and the 21-year-old Spaniard have since developed from top talents to world stars. Both have already won Grand Slam tournaments (Alcaraz three, Sinner two) and were or are number 1 in the world rankings.

In the direct duels between Alcaraz and Sinner, the score is 5:4 for the man from Murcia. In this anniversary match, Sinner wants to equalize the direct score again. "We know each other extremely well," explained Sinner before the final, which begins on Wednesday in Beijing at 11 a.m. (CET). SportNews will, as usual, keep its readers up to date with a live ticker for important matches.

By the way: Alcaraz won the last two duels between the two. This included the semi-final of the French Open in June of this year. Incidentally, this is only the second time that Sinner and Alcaraz have faced each other in a final. The first took place a good two years ago in Umag (Croatia), where Sinner won the tournament. Now the world number 1 wants to defend his tournament victory in Beijing against the world number 3.
