Ski world champion has found a new job.

After retirement: Ski star surprises with new job

Two years ago she was crowned Ski World Champion in France, and now a Norwegian woman is causing a stir again – with a new job that has nothing to do with skiing.

It's a difficult question for many competitive athletes – and one that often triggers a certain amount of fear and uncertainty. What will happen when I retire? It's unclear whether Maria Therese Tviberg had the same thoughts when she surprisingly announced her retirement in the fall of 2024. What is certain, however, is that the Norwegian has now found a new job – and is thus entering a completely new field.

Tviberg is now a real estate agent. Her new employer, Aksept, warmly welcomed the 31-year-old on Instagram. "With her background in alpine skiing, she brings a strong competitive spirit, determination, and the ability to thrive under pressure – qualities that are also of great value in our day-to-day work," the statement reads.

At this point, the Norwegian has fully settled into her new life. And she can also look back on a fantastic skiing career. A career in which Tviberg caused quite a stir in February 2023. Back then, she surprisingly won the gold medal in the parallel race at the World Championships in Courchevel.

This was the greatest success of her career. A few months later, however, she suffered a devastating blow when she suffered a total knee injury. She was unable to recover from this injury and finally announced her retirement in September 2024. Now, a new chapter begins as a real estate agent.
