Tobias Kastlunger caused a sensation on Thursday at the European Cup in Zinal (SUI). The South Tyrolean stood on the podium together with another Italian.

Two Italians finished on the podium at the end of the first giant slalom in Zinal. Besides Simon Talacci (3rd/+0,69 seconds), Tobias Kastlunger's second place is particularly noteworthy from a South Tyrolean perspective.

The 26-year-old from St. Vigil in Enneberg finished 0,58 seconds behind winner Hans Grahl-Madsen of Norway. Kastlunger has thus made another statement, following his strong start to the season in Levi (12th place in the slalom).
