Lara Gut-Behrami on course for the ball – Brignone leads

At the World Cup final in Saalbach (AUT), the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami reaches for the small crystal ball in the giant slalom. In the last giant slalom of the season, Federica Brignone (ITA) leads after the first run.

Spring-like conditions in Saalbach at the season finale of the women's giant slalom. Federica Brignone is in a league of her own, the Azzurra leads at halftime with a lead of almost half a second over Thea Louise Stjernesund (NOR) and Alice Robinson (NZL). The second Azzurra in the race, Marta Bassino, is in 10th place in the interim rankings.


Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI) reaches for the small crystal ball in the discipline ranking in eighth place. In the overall ranking, the Swiss has a lead of 95 points over Brignone. If Gut-Behrami finishes the race in the top 15, Brignone will no longer be able to push the Swiss out of the lead even with the day's victory.

The second round of the women's giant slalom in Saalbach begins at 2 p.m.
