Odermatt and De Aliprandini are beaming

Once again, the Chuenisbärgli in Adelboden proved that it is rightly considered the most spectacular giant slalom slope in the world. The race on Sunday was not for the faint-hearted - and ended with two beaming faces.

Firstly, there is Marco Odermatt. The Swiss is apparently unbeatable in Adelboden. For the fourth time in a row, “Odi”, who was celebrated with chants even before his run, secured the golden cowbell for the winner.

There was no way to beat Odermatt on Sunday either, although his compatriot Loic Meillard was in the lead until shortly before the finish. The half-time leader gave Odermatt a thrilling fight, but ultimately had to give way by 20 hundredths. Meillard finished in second place, but was also celebrated like a winner by over 2 frenetic spectators.

De Aliprandini races onto the podium

Luca De Aliprandini has written a special story. The Nonsberg native set the fastest time in the second run and raced from 2th place onto the podium. Regardless of losses, De Aliprandini showed that he can be reckoned with again. The jubilation of the Trentino native, who attended the sports high school in Mals, spoke volumes - it seemed as if a huge backpack had been lifted from him.

The otherwise strong Norwegians, however, were unlucky. Henrik Kristoffersen (2nd after the first round), Atle Lie McGrath (1th) and Alexander Steen Olsen (4th) had some spectacular crashes.

Alex Vinatzer was unable to improve in the final. He remained in 18th place with a large gap of 3,35 seconds.
