Olympic ski champion: A broken heart heals slowly

The past ski winter produced numerous tragic figures. One of them is Corinne Suter, whose broken heart is slowly healing thanks to special therapy.

Corinne Suter is a big name in the ski circus. She can call herself one of the very few world champions and Olympic champions in the supreme discipline of skiing, namely downhill. But the shock came last January: during the controversial Cortina descent - which resulted in several injuries - she tore her cruciate ligament. Her screams of pain could be heard live on TV.

The 29-year-old makes no secret of how badly this injury has affected her. “After the injury I cried for a few hours,” Suter told the View. Her heart, which beats so much for the sport of skiing, was broken.

The horse as therapy

Suter is now working diligently towards his comeback. Animal support is a great help to her. The Swiss woman is a big horse lover, as evidenced by many postings on social media. She also now shared a photo in which she can be seen with her magnificent four-legged friend. “Even though I’m not allowed to ride yet, I enjoy every single minute that I can spend with you,” said Suter’s declaration of love.

At the same time, she writes: “Being able to walk without pain is a big step in the right direction.” Slowly but surely, the broken skiing heart is healing again. But Suter doesn't want to commit to an exact comeback date. “I want to take the time it takes. “I don’t know when I’ll do my first race,” she says.
