How darn: No race on the Matterhorn again

Due to strong winds and a poor forecast, the first of two women's Ski World Cup downhill runs on the Matterhorn with the finish above Cervinia (Italy), planned for Saturday, has been canceled.

The lifts could not go into operation as planned in the morning, the pre-race program including a viewing was initially postponed and the race was rescheduled at 11.45 p.m. instead of 12.30 a.m. At 10.15:XNUMX a.m. there was a final decision with the cancellation.

Last week, the men were only able to complete one training session on their Matterhorn excursion; the other planned runs and the two downhill runs were canceled due to wind or snowfall. So far, only one out of three training sessions has been possible for women.

Another departure is scheduled for Sunday at 11.45:XNUMX a.m. From a South Tyrolean perspective, Vicky Bernardi, Nicol and Nadia Delago and Karoline Pichler would have started. In the previous season, none of the races could take place for women or men.
