What is it about? The weather is causing concern at Chuenisbärgli. And so the organizers have decided to change the program. The giant slalom classic will not take place on Saturday as planned, but on Sunday. The slalom, originally scheduled for Sunday, will be moved to Saturday. This is intended to increase the chance of both events being held successfully.
Some Swiss fans are upset by this exchange. Although they have bought a ticket for the giant slalom, they will miss the performance of their great hero Marco Odermatt. As is well known, he only races in giant slalom and not in slalom. The tickets in Adelboden are tied to the day in question and not to the race, which is why there have been numerous angry comments, as the portal Blick.ch reported. "In my opinion, tickets purchased on Saturday should be valid on Sunday, anything else is a rip-off," wrote one fan. Another: "The fact that tickets cannot be exchanged is a disgrace."

25.000 fans are expected in Adelboden on Saturday, but significantly fewer on Sunday. For this reason, the organizer is resisting. "A short-term change and the simultaneous care of 25.000 ski fans on Sunday is not possible for organizational reasons. The transport capacities are limited and the accommodation for this large number of spectators is a major challenge," said Christian Haueter, member of the management of the ski races, to Look.

Marco Odermatt also addressed his fans on Wednesday via Instagram. "Dear fans, unfortunately some of you cannot take part in the giant slalom this year. But my slalom colleagues will give it their all on Saturday and a great atmosphere is guaranteed in Adelboden anyway." "Odi" speaks from experience, because the atmosphere in Adelboden has always been one of the best that the Ski World Cup has to offer.
