Alexis Pinturault was actually one of the favorites in the giant slalom in Adelboden. But the 32-year-old left briefly on Saturday – for a good reason.

His long-time sweetheart Romane Faraut is expecting her first child shortly. That's why Pinturault left for Bern on Saturday morning because he really wants to be there at the birth. Romane and Alexis have been a couple since school and got married in 2017. Now the small French family will soon be three.

Anyone who is in the Ski World Cup and meets Pinturault will quickly notice that his wife Romane is always by his side. However, Romane is not just an ordinary wife, but Pinturault's right-hand woman, especially when it comes to media relations and communication. Now a private moment of glory awaits the two of them.
