Deep sadness in Austria's Ski Association

After the Sölden spectacle, Austria’s Ski Association announced sad news.

Deep sadness in Austria's ski scene. As the association announced on Monday, long-time vice president Franz Schellhorn died last week at the age of 81.

Between 1993 and 2013, the Salzburg hotelier held the office of ÖSV Vice President and was primarily responsible for the sports of snowboarding, freestyle and biathlon. "He represented the ÖSV at countless events and always successfully advocated for the interests of the ski association. In addition, Franz Schellhorn was also responsible for the catering at the Austrian hotels at numerous Olympic Games and World Championships," writes the Austrian Ski Association.

Franz Schellhorn also made a great contribution by founding the ski hotel management school in Bad Hofgastein, which produced many successful graduates such as Anna Fenninger and Marcel Hirscher. Schellhorn was honorary president of the ÖSV since 2013. He died last Monday at the age of 81.
