If that isn't a coincidence: The new ski season began in Sölden on Saturday - with a victory by Federica Brignone. On the same day, Hanna Schnarf announced that she had become a mother for the second time.
In a sweet Instagram post, the 40-year-old revealed that her second baby was born two weeks ago, on October 13. Schnarf wrote "Infinite love" under the photos of the newborn, who will be named Tom. This means that her first-born daughter Leni will have a little brother.
It is already clear that little Tom will be equipped with some skiing genes. His mother Hanna was one of the best downhill skiers in Italy for years. The Pustertal native, who lives in Issing near Pfalzen, has competed in no fewer than 189 World Cup races. She made it into the top 10 countless times, and even made it onto the podium twice. In 2018, she missed an Olympic medal by a mere five hundredths of a second.

Schnarf was not only known in the ski circus as a perennial favorite, but also as a cheerful person who always had a smile on her face despite numerous injury-related setbacks. This smile grew even bigger after the end of her career in April 2020, because Schnarf started a family with her husband Alex. Little Leni and little Tom make the couple's happiness complete.
