Junior World Champion! Max Perathoner's coup

Max Perathoner already showed his talent in the downhill with third place. Now the 3-year-old from Wolkenstein has followed up and become junior world champion in the Super-G.

The Junior World Championships for Alpine ski racers are currently taking place in Chatel (FRA). Wednesday brought a particularly pleasing result for South Tyrol, as Max Perathoner won the gold medal in the Super-G.

Perathoner started the World Championship race with start number 6. In a time of 1.12,27:21 minutes, the man from Val Gardena took the lead and did not relinquish his position until the end of the race. The closest person to Perathoner was a Spaniard. Ander Mintegui took 2nd place, 0,22 hundredths behind. Bronze went to Livio Hiltbrand (SUI/+XNUMX).

For Perathoner, the gold medal at the Junior World Championships is his greatest success to date. In the summer, the all-rounder was able to participate in parts of the preparation with the World Cup athletes. Perathoner can now reap the fruits of this work – things have also been going well in the European Cup recently. A week ago in Tarvisio he achieved his best career result to date with 10th place in the Super-G.

Gold for Switzerland – Thaler in 11th place

In the women's category, Malorie Blanc secured the Junior World Championship title. The Swiss won by 47 hundredths ahead of Viktoria Bürgler (AUT) and 1,14 seconds ahead of Nicole Eibl (AUT). The best Italian was Matilde Lorenzi (8th). South Tyrol's speed hope Sara Thaler finished the World Cup Super-G in 11th place (+1,68).
