Marlene Cup: Two South Tyrolean victories at the start
On Sunday, the Marlene Cup 2024/25 was opened with a men's and a women's slalom on the Kreuzberg Pass. The opening event in the U21 category was won by Noa Rabou from the Netherlands and Jakob Franzelin from Montan, while the U18 slaloms went to Victoria Klotz from Ritten and Ziggy Vrdoljak from Croatia.

In the U21 women's category, the Dutchwoman Noa Rabou was unstoppable. She smashed the best time of 1:40.02 minutes into the snow of the Kreuzberg Pass, making her exactly 1,05 seconds faster than second-placed Eva Sophia Blasbichler from the South Tyrolean national team. In third place behind the young South Tyrolean from RG Wipptal was Bianca Gufler from ASV Riffian Kuens, 1,48 seconds behind Rabou.
Gufler did not even achieve the third-best time in the National Junior Race, which was achieved by Victoria Klotz (Ritten Sport). The athlete, born in 2008, falls into the U18 category at the Marlene Cup, where she also won the day with a time of 1:41,25 minutes. Second place in this age group went to Vittoria Rossi from SC 2000 ASD in Veneto (1:41,42 minutes), and third place went to Slovenian Taja Presern (1:41,92 minutes).

The men's U21 race, however, produced a double victory for South Tyrol. Jakob Franzelin from Montan - last year he was part of the South Tyrolean national squad, now he is a member of the Carabinieri sports group - won with the best time of the day of 1:32.20 minutes, ahead of national squad athlete Jonas Feichter from ASC Gsiesertal (1.32,82:1 minutes). Third place went to Belgian Ioannis Bouas, who needed 32,95:XNUMX minutes for the two slalom runs.In the U18, an athlete from the South Tyrolean national team also landed on the podium. Alex Silbernagl from the Seiser Alm Ski Team came third with his time of 1:34,71 minutes, behind the Croatian Ziggy Vrdoljak (1:32,85 minutes, third fastest time in the overall ranking) and the New Zealander Toby Jackson (1:34,25 minutes). In total, almost 3 ski racers took part in the slalom on the Kreuzberg Pass, which was organized by the 250 Zinnen Dolomites ski team.
