Next World Cup races canceled

The speed races in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the women's Alpine Ski World Cup have been canceled without replacement.

The world association FIS announced this on Monday. At the World Cup venue last used by men, the snow cover is no longer sufficient to ensure the safety of the female athletes. A downhill and a Super-G should have taken place on Saturday and Sunday.

At the same time it would have been the men's turn in Chamonix; those two descents were also canceled without replacement due to the snow conditions (SportNews berichtete). The slalom on Sunday is still on the program.
