Ski retirement in the middle of the season: “My fire has gone out”

In the middle of the season, the Swiss ski team's career ended: a technical specialist no longer wanted to.

Vivianne Härri competed in the World Cup 22 times. Her moment of glory came two years ago when she came 14th in the giant slalom in Åre. But now the Swiss has ended her career – in the middle of the season and at just 24 years old.

“The fire for this long-standing passion has gone out. The willingness to invest an enormous amount of passion, time and energy in my skiing career is no longer there,” is Härri’s simple but plausible explanation.

Now she is becoming a student

The Swiss did not celebrate her greatest successes in the World Cup, but in the second-class European Cup. There she made it onto the podium four times. The Sestriere giant slalom on January 9th was her last race as a skier. Now the 24-year-old wants to devote herself to studying tourism management.
