The “wild pregnancy” of an Olympic ski champion

Former Olympic ski champion Julia Mancuso will soon become a mother for the third time – at the age of 40. In an Instagram post, she writes about her unusual experiences.

Ski queen Julia Mancuso recently announced in a happy post that she and her partner Dylan are expecting their third child. This is special because the 2006 Olympic giant slalom champion is already 40 years old. "Being pregnant at 40 is dangerous," Mancuso wrote on Instagram, but added: "Listen to your intuition. My body just loves to adapt and face new challenges."

Mancuso was a real power woman in her career as a skier and made it onto the podium 399 times in 36 World Cup races. The American now has just as much power in her new life, which she spends with her family in Hawaii, the Fiji Islands and California.

Mancuso speaks of a "wild pregnancy" that she is now experiencing at the age of 40. This is also due to the fact that in the second month of her pregnancy she was still tackling high waves on a surfboard, in the fifth month she was making turns on the ski slope and in the sixth month she even skied down from the top of a mountain.

"There is something so special about trusting your instincts and letting life unfold in a beautiful and mysterious way. I feel so blessed to have explored and experienced birth in so many different ways," Mancuso writes on Instagram.

In a few days, her third child will see the light of day. "We did a test and it turned out that it will most likely be a girl. We can't wait to welcome our little princess," said Mancuso, who already has two little boys with her husband Dylan.
